God has blessed me in my life, and I feel it is my responsibility to give back. To that end, I choose to support World Vision, a Christian, humanitarian, non-profit organization dedicated to ending injustice and poverty throughout the world. With that mission in mind, World Vision works in nearly 100 countries around the world, serving nearly 100 million people in need.
Most people recognize World Vision from the organization’s child sponsorship campaigns; however, sponsorship is just one of the many ways that World Vision provides aid around the world. The organization fights hunger in Africa, Asia and the Pacific, Europe, the Middle East, Central America, and South America. In the United States, World Vision works to end hunger and poverty, distributes clothing, toys, and household goods for the country’s poor, provides disaster relief and emergency assistance, and supports rural ministries. One of the organization’s current initiatives involves relief efforts in Haiti, providing ongoing support to help rebuild the lives of those affected by the 2010 earthquake.
Other efforts focus on transforming poverty-stricken communities around the world through health care, nutrition, HIV and AIDS programs, sanitation and hygiene, economic development, and child protection services. You can help World Vision by sponsoring a child or making a donation. To learn more, visit www.WorldVision.org.
